I never met Jo in person, but I felt that I knew her. We became friends on Facebook through our common love of the music of Il Volo. We had some fun conversations about them on the fan page over the years, especially about Ignazio. I was very sad to hear she was ill, and I thought about her a lot. There are many of us who will miss her. Fly with the angels, Jo! ❤️

Karen Giangrande-Flynn says:

My first encounter with Jo was on Facebook when I clicked to "join" the All About Il Volo fan page. The next thing I knew I got an e-mail from Jo wanting to know a little something about me and where my FB page was.....I didn't have one! Long story short, she got me set up and our friendship took off. I met her at my first Il Volo concert in 2014 in Stamford, CT. I'll always remember how impressed I was at the M&G when Il Volo put their arms around her and she made them all laugh. Jo touched everyone she met with love and happiness! Rest in peace, Jo. I'm going to miss you!

Emanuela Sacco says:

I never met you in person, but love for "Il Volo" made us feel friends, because music has no distances. I'll tell Ignazio to dedicate a song to you. We love you

Beverly Olson says:

Jo was my first Il Volo fb friend. Many years ago, there was very little out there about Il Volo, and I would spend hours on end searching the Internet for any little thing I could find. Many times, when I would find Youtube videos of the guys, they had been posted by Jo Longstreth. And, if the video hadn't been posted by her, most often she would have commented on someone else's Il Volo video. That prompted me to look for her on Facebook, at which time we became friends. Her "All Things Il Volo" fan page was the first one I became a part of. Over the years, I was blessed to meet Jo on several occasions, and we also had fairly regular contact via text, private messaging, and even some phone calls. (Oh, how I'll miss that sweet, Southern drawl!) She even talked me into co-administering an Il Volo fan page with her! Jo was one of the kindest, funniest, most unselfish people I've ever known .I admired and respected her immensely...I always will!. I love you, and I'll miss you, Jo-Jo. Rest well in our Savior's arms until we meet again.

Maria Marques says:

Rest In Peace Dear Jo. I only knew you through fb and the Il Volo boys. Heaven has gained another Angel

Lida Jones says:

So glad we were friends. We’ll meet again!

Kerri Buchanan says:

Jo was one of my first Il Volo Facebook friends. I met her a few times for Il Volo events. I loved chatting with her on Facebook and reading her posts. I especially loved seeing pictures of her and Trixie! She was such a wonderful lady and I will really miss her. RIP Jo Longstreth! Thank you for being my friend. ❤️✝️

Christine Pegnato says:

My heart has been so heavy since I heard the news of Jo's passing late Sunday night. We met through IL VOLO and I've been to their concerts with her three times. She was a funny lady and she knew about all there was to know about IL VOLO. She would ask me if I had seen a particular show which featured IL VOLO that played on the Italian TV channel and if I said "no", next thing I know, she would send me a copy. She was so kind. The last FB conversation I had with her was about 2 months ago. I told her that retirement was a bit lonely, not being around people and she wrote "I am so sad to hear that". She was so caring. I cannot convey how sad I am over her passing! My prayer is that she is in a better place and there is no more suffering. God Bless Jo and it was great to have known her!

Eileen Charnas says:

Jean Nadali says:

Dear JoJo. Our connection was our beloved ‘boys’. When I ‘discovered’ the ‘boys’ on RAI, I scoured the Internet for more information of this beloved talented group. I saw your column on FaceBook ‘All about Il Volo’ & reached out to you. You directed & found me interviews, You Tube appearance, & were, basically, a treasure trove of information. You were kind & always very helpful. RIP JoJo. Prayers & condolences to your family & your beloved ❤️ Trixie. God bless!

Brenda Lewis says:

I am so saddened by the loss of such a great lady. I enjoyed her posts and her love and dedication to our boys Il VOLO. I am so glad she was able to see them and meet them for one last time. Prayers go out to her family and friends.

Kathy Laug says:

I would like the public to know how blessed Jo said she was while she received her cancer treatment. People sent packages, brought food, took her to get her treatments. Her co workers were very giving as well. They donated their sick time to her- how wonderful that was. She couldn't believe how giving friends and strangers were- but we know why. Thank you all.

Harriett Eckberg says:

May I join in with all the rest of dear Jo's friends?. She and I were FB friends and always hoped to meet at some point. We finally did in Miami, FL in the Design District to hear our IL Volo boys introduce a new Latin song. What a thrill it was to finally meet this sweet, funny southern lady after so many years messaging and sharing on FB. We always shared news about the IL Volo boys, our families, love for our pets and much more. I'll remember her always and send my sincere prayers for strength, comfort and peace to her family. ♥♥

Laura Parish says:

Jo was my first Il Volo friend and I knew nothing about the fan groups till she introduced me to them. We never got to meet in person but chatted on the phone and on Facebook. She was always ready to help me with my stubborn computer and sent me DVDs she had made just because she knew I would love them. I will miss her so much. As we all will.

Gary Istok says:

Jo... dear friend... I will always love and miss you!! ♥♥

Jacqueline van der Schilden says:

I miss you every second but we will meet again. I will always love you. The heaven got a New star the brigtest of the all and We will be in touch.

Judith Tuerlings says:

Dearest Jo,
I still can't believe you're gone. It is so surreal. I just don't want it to be reality.
Like many of us, I knew you through Il Volo. You were my first Il Volo friend and together we belong to the first group who were their fan. We had our own little gang. 5 years ago I finally met you in New York. We were there tot Il Volo's concert and a few days later we went to their concert in Washington. I still remember every moment like it was yesterday. These were like the best days of my life, and I am so happy you are part of that.
You were so loyal, you were always there for me. Our friendship is the most real I have ever had. I will miss you so incredibly much Jo.
The world is a lot darker without you in it. Rest in peace, my dear friend. At least I know you are not in pain anymore. I know you will watch over us. I will never forget you. Love you so much

Viviana Benítez says:

Querida Jo descansa en paz no te olvidaremos

Barbara Morris says:

Jo was my Il Volo FB friend for the last four years. I never met Jo in person but feel like I knew her well. She was that kind of an open and loving person. I will miss her greatly. My sincere condolences to her family.

Lucy Hadley Buzzee says:

Jo was my first Il Volo Facebook friend in 2011. She was so much more knowledgeable of technology than I was, and always so helpful. I met her in person the first time when I traveled to Franklin, Tennessee and she drove from Manchester and we had lunch. Subsequently, a couple of other times when I was in Nashville, she met up with me, and one time she brought her son, Drew. I cherish those times together, and a few other times we met at Il Volo concerts over the years. She was always so willing to extend help and friendship. I spent a bit of time with her at the concert in Atlanta last month at the sound check. Each of Il Volo greeted Jo and talked with her, and I'm sure that meant so much to her. I was privileged to know Jo, such a sweet, kind woman, who probably would be overwhelmed to know she touched so many people with her kindness and also that so many people held her in such high regard. I send my condolences to her children and all of her family.

Madeline Vitella says:

Jo, you are so dearly missed by all. Rest in peace my friend.

Mary Anne Marshall says:

I had the privilege to get to know an angel. Jo was incredibly kind and giving. She was always there for me whenever I needed to talk to her. Truly a remarkable lady who was loved by so many. I have lost my angel. She has gone to Heaven. Please look after her so we can meet again someday. My prayers are with her family. Take care dear Drew.

Ruth Eirhart says:

Jo was one of the kindest and most generous people I have ever met. As I read through these tributes, I see the same phrase over and over: “Jo was my first Il Volo friend”. This is because of her caring and inclusive nature. She reached out to everyone she encountered through her love of IL Volo. In addition to sharing our love for Il Volo, we talked many times about her love for and pride in her children. She will be missed the world over.

Fran Alberti says:

My dear friend Jo. From the moment I followed ATIV, I found a kind, funny, caring and loving woman. My heart has been in pieces since I read the post that you passed away. We had so much in common and we long conversations. I miss you so much already. When my mom was diagnosed with cancer, you asked me her name and said you would pray for her. I prayed for you everyday that our loving God would heal you but he loved you so that he brought you home to be pain free. I am so happy we met at Radio City and had brunch the next day and it was so easy to speak to you like we knew each other all our lives. You told me that you were upset because we never took a picture together that day but my dear Jo, as much as I would love to have a picture with you, I don’t need a picture because you are in my heart always. I’m sending your beautiful children strength and love at this very hard time. May God take you into his arms and comfort your family. May you Rest In Peace my dear friend.

Edwina Liles Pate says:

To my dear friend: Jo Lynn and I were friends in high school. When my son, Jeffrey, died --same age as her youngest daughter, Holly --she invited me to join a group that met once a month for dinner. From then, we began playing trivia once or twice a week. I never expressed to Jo Lynn how much that first invitation meant to me. She helped me through many days of grief and loss and I'll never forget how valuable her friendship has been. I will miss her tremendously. My prayers and love are with the family and I pray we will see each other again one day. Rest in peace my sweet friend.

Sharleen Parker says:

Dear Jo, my kind, funny and caring friend... I miss you already. You were always the one I went to for so long with my questions about things that worried me, and we talked about all kinds of things in life... we talked about faith and God and our kids and our concerns and joys .. lots of talks about Il Volo and all that they had done for our lives, lifting us with their music and making us laugh and even sometimes making us shake our heads because, well you know, teenage boys and all are a bit baffling... even when you love them like your own kids.. But Jo was always so dependable, and could always say things to make smile and then suddenly she was sick, and I couldn't reach out because she was in the hospital and then gone. So suddenly... My prayers are with all her loved ones, praying you will be comforted knowing she believed and trusted Jesus and is singing praises with the angels and we'll see her again in the sweet bye and bye.. Rest in the arms of the angels... in sweet Heavenly Peace!
