Haggard, Miss. Joy Leann -

Manchester - Funeral services for Joy Leann Haggard, age 35 will be conducted Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Brother Earl Cairns, Brother Bob Ruehling and Brother Ray officiating.  Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:00-9:00 PM at the funeral home. Joy passed away Saturday, April 25, 2009 at St. Thomas Hospital after an extended illness.  She was born April 9, 1974 in Coffee County, the daughter of Leroy Haggard and Rebecca Lynn Haggard.  She graduated from Central High School in 1994 and then continued her studies at Motlow Community College receiving an Associate Degree in Psychology.  She then attended MTSU where she was studying to receive her B.S. Degree.  Joy was extremely musically gifted.  She attended the Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University for over 2 years studying both the violin and fiddle.  She won several notable awards for performances to include the Smithville Jamboree and also performed with several well known musicians.  She developed a passion for custom car competitions where she also won several awards.  She was known by friends and family even during her illness to be a devoted, loving, passionate worker who enjoyed assisting others including her friends at the  Kidney Support Group of Rutherford County which was near to her heart.  Joy was a devoted Christian and a member of Westwood Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by a maternal grandfather, William Jackson, Jr., and paternal grandparents, Woodrow and Hazel Haggard. Joy€™s loving surviving family includes her mother, Rebecca Lynn Haggard, her father, Leroy Haggard and wife, Mary Lynn Haggard, maternal grandmother, Juanita Jackson, sister, Emily Delight Haggard all of Manchester, step-sister, Sharon L. Woodard of Tullahoma and step-brother, James M. Burr of Guntersville, AL and a cousin, Bill Rickles of Manchester. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Kidney Support Group of Rutherford County, 1937 Keningston Drive, Murfreesboro, TN  37127 Coffee County Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.
