Tullahoma - Funeral services for Ray Espy, age 61, a resident of Tullahoma will be conducted Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Brother Steve Anderson and Brother Horace Lee Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow at Gilley Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5:00-9:00 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Espy passed away Sunday, July 12, 2009.
He was born June 15, 1948 in Coffee County, TN the son of the late William Horace Espy and Iva Jane Shelton Espy. He was a United States Army veteran and a mechanic. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers and sisters, twins, Edgar and Edna Lewis, Hoyte Espy, Betty Croft and Faye Gulick. Survivors include four sons, DeWayne Strawn of Dallas, TX; Shain Espy of Manchester, Billy Espy and wife, Patricia of Tullahoma, and Joey Espy and wife, Christy also of Tullahoma, TN; ten grandchildren, Steven Strawn, Candice Strawn, Michael Espy, Michelle Espy, Trenton Espy, Chris Espy, Josh Espy, Tiffany Glasglow, Austin and Savannah Espy; brothers and sisters, Ed Lewis and wife Shelley of Shelbyville, TN, Carolyn Jacobs and husband Horace Lee of Lynchburg, Leroy Espy and wife Nancy of Banner Elk, NC, Junior Espy of Farris, TX, Wayne Espy and wife Susie of Murfreesboro, TN, Patricia McDonald of Garland, TX, Elaine Lambert and husband, Gary of Garland, TX and Eddie Espy and wife, Helen of Morrison and numerous nieces and nephews.
