Jones, Milton David -
Manchester - Milton David Jones died July 19, 2009. He was born January 7, 1917 to parents John David & Emma Isom Jones near Wartrace, TN; the family later moved to Manchester where the First United Methodist became Milton’s church home for the next 81 years. He began his business career after graduation from Manchester Central High School then served 4 years in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He resumed his business for the next 45 years which evolved into Milton Jones Tire & Appliances. Milton served Manchester as Alderman, a member of the Board of Education and Coffee County Industrial Development Board. Milton was a 32nd degree Mason, a Shriner and a longtime member of the Rotary Club. Preceded in death by parents, Dave and Emma Jones, sisters Stella Huffman and Mildred Scott, and brothers James Thurman and Ira Jack Jones. He is survived by wife of 68 years Joan comer Jones; son Milton David Jones, Jr. (Patricia Coe) of Birmingham, A; daughter Keven Guschke (Jim) of Nashville, TN; grandsons Michael David Jones (Jami), and James David Guschke; granddaughters Kara Jones Vraniqi (Luan), and Kathryn Guschke; great granddaughter Zoe Jolie Vraniqi; and brother Dr. Gerald Jones (Joy) of Chattanooga TN and many beloved nieces and nephews. Visitation is today, Monday, July 20 noon to 3:30 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel followed by services at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens at 4:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Children’s Playground Fund at Pennington United Methodist Church, 2745 Pennington Bend Road, Nashville, TN 37214.
