Manchester - Memorial services for Mr. William Harold Fisher, age 75 of Manchester will be conducted Sunday, January 30, 2011 at 6:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Brother Benny Benjamin officiating. Visitation with the family will be Sunday from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Fisher passed away Thursday, January 27, 2011 at Vanderbilt Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born December 30, 1935 in Parsons, Tennessee the son of the late Hubert Fisher and Hazel Lee Maxwell Fisher. Harold grew up in Manchester graduating from Central High School. He then attended Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville where in 1958 he received a B.S. degree in Accounting. Following graduation, he enrolled in the Nashville School of Law. While in law school, he was employed with the State of Tennessee as an auditor. Upon receiving his law degree, he began practicing law in Nashville and then moved to Manchester in 1968 where he was a partner in the law firm of Harrison and Fisher. He was devoted to his profession and to his loving family. He was known as a warm and loving man who loved traveling, especially cruises and also had an avid love for golf. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and his beloved beagle, “Buddy”. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Hoover J. Fisher.
Survivors include his loving wife of 28 years, Christine M. Fisher; children, Mark Fisher of Nashville, Brad Weibert and wife, Tracey of Manchester, Beth Burklin and husband, Bryan of Knoxville, TN and Blake Weibert and wife, Julie also of Manchester; five grandchildren, Davis Burklin, Sara Burklin, Anna and Emma Burklin, and Grace Weibert.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Coffee County Humane Society, P.O. Box 252, Manchester, TN 37349 or to the Coffee County Children’s Advocacy Center, 104 N. Spring St., Manchester, TN 37355.
