Genevieve Pierce Tucker

Manchester - Funeral services for Mrs. Genevieve Pierce Tucker, age 95 of Manchester will be conducted Sunday, February 20, 2011 at 1PM with Brother Carl Sims officiating. Burial will follow at Ivy Bluff Cemetery in Cannon County. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 20, 2011, 12PM until time of services at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Tucker passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Raintree Manor in McMinnville.
She was born October 15, 1915 in Harrisburg, Illinois the daughter of the late Louis Pierce and Amy Allie Carter Pierce. She married James Tucker in March of 1938.
She traveled the country with Jim while he pursued his engineering career. They spent several years on her beloved Catalina Island. During World War II, she and Jim worked together to build their dreams.
In her fifties, Gene returned to school and became a nurse. She worked most of her career in nursing homes attending to the elderly.
Gene enjoyed reading and travel. She also acquired a love of wine tasting in the central coast of California.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Haskell Tucker, August 18, 1963.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Mary Tucker of Paso Robles, Ca, her son, Don Lee Tucker of Orlando, Florida and her grandchildren, Katy and Stewart Tucker of Parrish, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kingwood Arms Activity Fund, Manchester, Tennessee.
