Manchester - Funeral services for Mr. David Reavis, age 59, of Manchester will be conducted Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bob Case and Brother Danny Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2011 from 5:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home and on Thursday from 12:00 Noon until time of services. Mr. Reavis passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2011 in Tullahoma, TN. He was born June 18, 1952 in Lewisburg, Tennessee the son of Etna Ruth Woody Reavis and the late Johnson Paul Reavis, Jr. David retired in June 2010 after 39 years of service from Duck River Electric where he was employed as a Field Engineer. His hobbies included camping and four wheeling as well as his love of spending time with his family. He attended Forest Mill United Methodist Church. In addition to his father, Johnson Paul Reavis, Jr., he is preceded in death by a brother, Terry Randall Reavis.
Survivors include his loving wife of 15 years, Susan Cook Reavis of Manchester; seven children, Johnson Paul Reavis, III of Manchester, Jennifer Lynette Reavis of Dallas, TX, Haley Suzanne Tomasek, Kelsey Alene Tomasek Umbarger and husband, Zack, Elizabeth Sue Reavis, Hannah Ruth Reavis and William Alexander “Alex” Reavis all of Manchester, TN; David’s mother, Ruth Reavis of Manchester and his mother-in-law, Sue Harner Cook also of Manchester; two sisters, Mary Jane Owen and husband, Tim of Mobile, AL and Paulette White and husband, Elliott of Manchester and numerous nieces, nephews and loving friends. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Memory of David to the Sarah Cannon Research Institute, 3322 West End Avenue, Suite 900, Nashville, TN 37203 or to Hospice Compassus, 936 N. Jackson Street, Tullahoma, TN 37388.
