Manchester - Graveside funeral services for Mary Penney Macura, age 82 of Manchester will be conducted Monday, August 22, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Liberty Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Jasper, AL with Brother Eddie Everett officiating. Mrs. Macura passed away Friday, August 19, 2011 at the Southern Tennessee Medical Center in Winchester, TN.
She was born February 29, 1920 in Jasper, AL the daughter of the late Bill Pike and Ethel Jones Pike. She was a homemaker who resided in Lynn Haven, FL before moving to Manchester six years ago. She was a wonderful seamstress who enjoyed quilting and she also loved to travel. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her daughter, Sue B. Watkins of Manchester, TN; son, Glendon Blackwood of Boston, MA; five grandchildren, Michael and Glen Blackwood of Boston, MA, W. Alan Watkins and Melissa Bush both of Manchester, TN and Michelle Martindale of Johnson City, TN and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, Frank Pike of MS.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, Al Menah Hospital Fund, P.O. Box 78545, Nashville, TN 37207.
