Morrison - Funeral services for Mr. Alsbie “Monty” Montgomery Janes, 72, of Morrison will be held, Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 2 PM at the Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Bro. Skip Abbott officiating. Burial will follow at Forrest Mill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Friday, January 13, 2012 from 5 – 8 PM. Mr. Janes passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at the Medical Center of Manchester.
Mr. Janes, a native of Sparksville, Kentucky, was the son of the late Frank Montgomery Janes and the late Ernestine Roberts Janes Horn. He was a Coast Guard Reservist and had worked as an Office Manager for Chrysler Credit in Louisville, Kentucky for many years. He retired from United Stationers in Lavergne, Tennessee. He was a Shriner and enjoyed fishing and gardening, playing with his dogs and attending flea markets.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Janes was preceded in death by one brother, George Janes.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Hatfield Janes of Morrison, TN.; one son, Monty Duane Janes of Louisville, KY; one daughter, Cindy Burdett and her husband Scott of Louisville, KY; two step-sons, Stephen Dimitri and his wife Melissa of Crestwood, KY and Christopher Dimitri and his wife Joy of Benton, KY; one step-daughter, Candi Dimitri of Manchester, TN; ten grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
