Manchester - Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie Sue Winton, age 90 of Manchester will be conducted Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Reverend Earl Cairns officiating. Burial will follow at Wesley’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 AM until time of services at 2:00 PM. Mrs. Winton passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at Manchester Health Care Center. She was born July 22, 1921 in Coffee County, TN the daughter of the late John Adam Duke and Willie Dora Smith Duke. Nellie Sue is the wife of the late Fred T. Winton who passed away in 2001. When Sue and Fred got married they worked for the Cumberland Valley Show in target booths. They worked several years and then decided to settle down in Hillsboro on a farm. Sue worked for the Agriculture Department for several years. She raised feeder pigs and loved gardening and flowers. She loved her dogs over the years too. She was a member of the Wesley Heights United Methodist Church. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Winton preceded in death by six brothers, John W. Duke, Aubrey Duke, Houston Duke, Nile Duke, Aaron Duke and Howard Duke and two sisters, Cleo Quick and Gertrude Stacey. Mrs. Winton is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to the Multi-County Cancer Support Network.
