Manchester - Funeral services for Mrs. Julia Elizabeth Norton Powers, age 94 of Manchester will be conducted Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mark Barron officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Friday evening, March 16, 2012 from 5:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Mrs. Powers passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2012 in Dickson, Tennessee. She was born April 23, 1917 in Coffee County, TN the daughter of the late Rufus Walter and Minnie Jacobs Norton. Mrs. Powers was a seamstress and worked many years at PCA. She was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Manchester. She enjoyed many church and Sunday school activities.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Vernie Powers; one daughter, Bobby Louise Powers; one brother Robert Norton; two grandsons, Michael Blackburn and Danny Williams and three great grandchildren, Jeremy Blackburn, Allison Brooke Monsue and Alexis Hall.
Survivors include two sons, Noel Powers of Lyles, TN. And Edwin Powers and his wife, Priscilla of Dickson, TN; six grandchildren, Theresa Williams of Manchester; Linda Daniels and her husband, Greg of Jasper, TN., Debbie Rector and her husband, Jimmy of Jasper, TN., Teri Crow and her husband, Murray of Dickson, TN., Lisa Struble and her husband, Mark of Columbus, OH. And Stephen Powers of Erin, TN.; 12 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.
