I met Mike when I was in the first grade at Hopewell or Pocahontas School. His mother, Barbara, was my first grade teacher. She brought him to the school ever now and then. I remember him, later, when I was at Coffee County Central High School. But I never really got to know him. I am very sorry at his passing.

Sharon Biggs says:

Mike was my boss beginning in May 2013. Due to unforseen circumstances I was forced to go back to work after having retired. This was a traumatic time for us, Mike and Genie at Respiratory at Home were a God send. Mike was such a fun loving ,life living man. Each morning he would stroll in the office, coffee mug in hand and ask, " what's up grandma". Followed by a big bear hug. I was grandma to their dachshund "Moonshine". After a few years I developed issues with my vision and hearing. Even though this hindered me in performing a lot of my work duties Mike was very accommodating. All the trips to specialist and times I had to be off were never a concern to Mike. He would simply ask " how's the eyes."
"Do we need to put you out to pasture?". I'm truly grateful . I wish I had told him how much his understanding meant to me. Mike and Genie had become precious friends to us.
Mike, I'm so sorry you are gone. You had a lot of living to do. So many will miss you! Love you buddy.
