Manchester - Mr. Sammy David Jones, age 63, a resident of Manchester passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at his residence. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 17, 2009 from 12 Noon until 8:00 PM at the residence located at 2080 Parker Road, Manchester. All friends are invited to attend.Mr. Jones was the son of the late E.B. Jones and Georgia Lee Jones. He was born September 15, 1945 in Hoboken, Georgia. He was a United States Air Force veteran having served in Vietnam and was career military for over 20 years. Following his retirement from the Air Force, he and his wife, Barbara drove truck for Ryder/Saturn Springhill Division as an over the road drivers for over 16 years. Recently, Mr. Jones began working with leather and enjoyed making leather goods for family and friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister and a brother.Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Barbara Rainey Jones of Manchester; four children, Grace Lynn Neely and husband, Lee of Arrington, TN, Deborah Louise Ward and husband, Jimmy of Panama City, FL, Keith Edward Reiter and wife, Susan of Valdosta, GA and Kirk Alan Reiter of Manchester, TN; eight grandchildren, Samantha Ann Stevenson and significant other, Nathan Peterson, Derek Dewar and Chad Dewar, Ryan Christopher Reiter, Dannielle Hamm and Joielle Hamm and two great-grandchildren, David Logan Garrett and Jordann Celynn Stevenson, also surviving are 5 sisters and a brother.
