Bailey, Mrs. Nelle Norman -
Manchester - Graveside services of Mrs. Nelle Norman Bailey, age 90, will be conducted Monday, September 22, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens with Rev. Neal Glass officiating. Visitation with the Bailey family will Sunday, September 21 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Bailey passed away Friday evening at Shannondale of Maryville Nursing Home in Maryville, TN. Mrs. Bailey was born May 2, 1918 to the late Samuel Patrick and Pauline Voegel Norman. In earlier years, she worked for the Manchester Times and the Coffee County School Board before retiring from the Tennessee Division of Forestry. She was a resident of Manchester for over 50 years as well as being a very active longtime member of the First United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years who passed away October 27, 2004, Edward Paul Bailey, Sr., five sisters, Anna Belle Higgins, Dorothy Shideckel, Louise Teague, Ellen Martin, Deloris Norman; and one brother, Samuel Parker Norman.Survivors include one son, Edward Paul Bailey, Jr. and wife Vicki of Maryville, TN; 1 grandson, John Carr Bailey and wife Jessica of Carrboro, NC; 1 step-grandson, Brandon Scott Walker of Knoxville, TN; and two great-grandchildren, Madeline Anne Bailey and Jack Bailey; and a sister, Emma Jean Losh of St. Petersburg, FLIn lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to The Alzheimer€™s Association.
