Manchester - Funeral services for Lee Roy Dye, age 78 will be conducted Sunday, August 31, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Dr. Kerry Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Welker Cemetery in Coffee County, TN. Mr. Dye passed away Thursday, August 28, 2008 in Knoxville, TN. He was born June 18, 1930 in Grandview, Tennessee the son of the late Addison Dye and Nancy Elizabeth Hardin Dye. He was a life long resident of Coffee County until 2003 when he moved to Knoxville to be close his daughter and family. He retired from AEDC after 30 years of employment as an electrician. After his retirement, one of his fondest hobbies was working on cars and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a United States Air Force veteran having served during the Korean Conflict.In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Helen Marie Shannon Dye, a grandson, Thomas Wayne Gober and three brothers, Carl, Avery and Farris Dye. Survivors include two loving daughters Lorena Jones and husband, David of Normandy and Charlotte Mathney and husband, Chris of Knoxville; four grandchildren, Amanda Jernigan, Elijah Gober, Heather Willson and Jessica Collins and two great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Jernigan and Addison Willson. Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Ellen Mathis of Grandview, TN.
