McMinnville - Olga Elizabeth Gonsalvez Hayos, age 89, currently residing in McMinnville, TN passed away Saturday, May 14, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Hayos was born October 24, 1921 in New York, NY. From 1972 until the mid 1990’s, she was a devoted English teacher in Venezuela. She then moved to Miami, FL where she enjoyed such hobbies as reading, watching movies and enjoying local cultural and artistic events. One of her favorite past times was organizing famous dinners for her family. She was a member of the Catholic faith.In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Menihert Hayos Slinski; an infant daughter, Esther Hayos and most recently, a son, Stephen Hayos and a sister.
Survivors include a loving daughter and son-in-law, Vicky and Jerry Stone of Manchester; a son, Benjamin Hawkins of MA; two grandchildren, Jessica Hayos and Esther Hayos and several great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a daughter-in-law, Monica and a sister, Loretta.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
