McMinnville - Graveside services for Mrs. Lillian Ruth Smith Nugent, age 92, of McMinnville will be conducted Thursday, Oct 13, at 12 Noon ( 1 PM Eastern Time) at Morgan Memorial Gardens in Wartburg, TN with Pastor Mark Barrron officiating. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, October 12 from 5 – 8 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel.
Mrs. Nugent passed away Monday, October 10, 2011 in McMinnville.
Mrs. Nugent was born in Wartburg, Tennessee on June 22, 1919, the daughter of the late Thomas Joseph and Virginia Hall Smith. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, John Hugh Smith; a sister, Willa Williams and a son Ronald Orville Nugent.
Her survivors include daughter, Phyllis Myers of Manchester, Tennessee; two sons, Thomas Elbert Goad and Donald George Nugent; step-son Paul Earl Nugent of Toledo, Ohio; grandchildren, Melody Myers of Manchester, Autumn Gunn of Beech Grove, Herbert Nugent of Manchester and Stephanie Osborne of Tecumseh, Michigan and great grandchildren, Lexi Gunn and Izabella Myers.
Mrs. Nugent enjoyed Ballroom and Square Dancing, Gardening, watching C-Span, and Crocheting and Knitting. She was an active member of a Square Dance Club for many years. Mrs. Nugent was employed by Bell South as a telephone operator and investigator.
