Hillsboro - Memorial services for Mrs. Ella Mae Gilliam, age 92 of Hillsboro, TN will be conducted Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 6:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Brother David Haley officiating. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4:00-6:00 PM at the funeral home. Mrs. Gilliam passed away Sunday, March 18, 2012 at Stone Crest Medical Center in Smyrna, TN. She was born June 3, 1919 in Coffee County, TN the daughter of the late J.H. “Jim” Crawford and Emma B. Willis Crawford. She was the first female bus driver in Coffee County employed by the Coffee County School System. She enjoyed family and friends and was a longtime member of the Beans Creek Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Estill W. Gilliam, an infant son, Willis Gilliam, her daughter, April Gilliam Lineberger and a sister, Amanda Crawford Ashburn.
Survivors include her son-in-law, Charles “Dick” Lineberger and wife, Judy of Hillsboro; two grandchildren, Elana Lineberger of Auburndale, FL and Andrew Lineberger of Winter Haven, FL; three nieces, Betsy Powers and June Brown of Manchester and Carrie Sue Yerbey of Chattanooga, TN. The family has suggested memorial contributions be made to Bean’s Creek Church of Christ.
