Morrison - Funeral services for Mr. Martin Kevin “Marty” Gilliam, age 51, of Morrison, TN will be conducted Monday, July 1, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Brother Jim Gray officiating. Interment will follow at Hurricane Cemetery in Coffee County. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 30, 2013 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel.
Marty passed away Thursday, June 27, 2013 in Manchester.
He was born December 28, 1961 in Coffee County, the son of the late Alton Leon Gilliam and Betty Jean Keele Henley. Marty was employed for over 24 years with Yorozu Automotive of TN where he was currently a Supervisor. He had a passion for old classic cars, especially Chevrolet’s. His favorite was his 1973 Nova. Marty enjoyed fishing, baseball and motorcycle riding. He especially enjoyed spending time playing with his granddaughter, Bently.
Marty will be missed dearly by his loving family and many friends he leaves behind.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ernest and Ophelia Driver and a sister-in-law, Susie Gilliam.
Survivors include his loving wife of 31 years, Sybil Driver Gilliam of Morrison, two children, son, Kevin Gilliam and fiancée, Caylee Shelton both of Manchester; daughter, Ashley Gilliam of Morrison; one granddaughter, Bently Rife of Manchester; five brothers and sisters, Bradley Gilliam of Manchester; Veda Mooneyham and husband, James of Manchester; twin brother, Mark Gilliam and wife, Darlene of Lebanon, TN; Johnny Henley and wife, Michelle of Hillsboro, TN; stepbrother, Patrick Henley of Chattanooga; two step-sisters, Shelia Henley and Sandy Spangler both also of Chattanooga, TN; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.
