Hillsboro - A Celebration of Life Gathering for Mr. Michael David Nelms, age 52 of Hillsboro, will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016 from 1:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. in the hospitality suite at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Mr. Nelms passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2016.
He was born on August 24, 1964 to the late Silas Nelms and Mary Hunt Nelms. He was a United States Navy veteran. Mike was a gentle soul with a warm heart and had an adventurous spirit that was contagious. He enjoyed hang gliding and being outdoors. Mike was known for being the ultimate handyman and could fix anything. He enjoyed reading and loved his cats just as much as they loved him. Mike was known for his passion of living life to the fullest, and making the most out of his time here on Earth.
Survived by his forever person, Diane Ladd; sisters, Sheri Nelms, Trish Nelms Freimuth, Cindy Nelms; step-mother, Betty Nelms; niece, Sonja Thorsvik; nephews, Erik Thorsvik, Matthew Freimuth, Christopher Freimuth; mother-in-law, Peggy Darnell; brother-in-law, Jimmy Darnell; step-children, Nikki Madrid (Frankie), Rikki Caldwell, James Darnell (Jessica); step-grandchildren, Logen Madrid, Trey Caldwell, Morgan, Kaydence, Elijah Darnell.
