Morrison - Graveside services for Chris Barnes, age 55 of Morrison, will be conducted on Monday, October 16, 2017 at 12:30 P.M. at Farrar Hill Cemetery with Reverend Danny Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Mr. Barnes passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital. Chris was born on May 25, 1962 in Cannon County, TN. He worked for over 30 years at the street department for the City of Manchester. He was also a former volunteer fire fighter for North Coffee Volunteer Fire Department. Chris was a jack of all trades. He loved woodworking, small engine repair, and tinkering with things to make them work again. He had a love for life and his family, and will be greatly missed by all of those who called him Dad. Preceded in death by his parents, Reagor and Shirley Reese. Survived by his loving wife, Melissa Lisa Barnes; sons, Allen Barnes (Shelby), Cole Vandergriff (Ashley), Matthew Johnson; daughters, Jodie King (Eric), Kristy Corley (Josh); grandchildren, Jayden, Bentley, Dallas, Alyssa, Christopher, Mark and Riley; father-in-law, Huey C. Baker; friends, Michael Holder, Brother David Kidder, Brandon Spry; a host of friends who he thought of as his family. Coffee County Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the family of Chris Barnes.
