Fletcher, William Edward -

Manchester - Gunnery Sergeant William E. Fletcher, USMC, (Retired)
Bill Fletcher passed away from a heart attack on January 23rd, 2018. His death was sudden, unexpected, and at 62, was much too early.
Bill is survived by his wife of 26 wonderful years, Lisa Robin Olsen; his son, Steven Gregory Fletcher; his brother, David Fletcher; and his sister, Linda Ruth Fletcher.
Bill was born in Louisiana on August 12, 1955 to Robert Edward and Billie Ruth Fletcher. He joined the United States Marine Corp at 17, then proudly and honorably served his country for the next 20 years. His last assignment was with HMH-461 out of Jacksonville, NC.
Since moving to Manchester in 2002, Bill could usually be seen under a roof of his latest project car, at home, off Woodbury Highway. If he wasn’t greasy, he wasn’t happy!
A special hug goes out to his Manchester buddies: Lonnie, Ben, Missie (who he always wanted to adopt), Dee, and Shane. You brought more than a few smiles to Bill’s face.
Flowers should be given to your loved ones, for no special reason. In lieu of donations, surprise your loved ones with a special day out. Because when it’s over, it’s those memories you’ve created that will live on in the hearts of the ones you’ve loved. And Bill has given those he loved some very special memories, and his familiar farewell – “Let me know if I can help you with anything.” We love you Bill.
The last thing Bill would have wanted was to have anyone crying over him, which is why he chose to skip a local memorial service. So remember Bill in your own way, perhaps share one of his bad jokes, and laugh, knowing he’ll be laughing along with you.
God Bless you Bill Fletcher.
Coffee County Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the Fletcher family.
