Murfreesboro - Funeral services for Mr. Earl Gordon Eaton, age 91, of Manchester, TN, will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Rev. Randy Brown officiating. Entombment will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service on Wednesday, at the funeral home. Mr. Eaton passed from this life on Monday, January 7, 2019, at St. Thomas – Rutherford in Murfreesboro, TN.
Earl was born in Caseyville, IL to the late William and Willie Dell Eaton. He was a member of Manchester First United Methodist Church, and was a United States Air Force veteran, serving during the Korean War. Earl was stationed at the Pentagon while serving his country. After serving in the military, Earl was a lifetime member of The American Legion, plant manager of Craftmore Glove Company in Lynchburg, and eventually opened and owned Eaton’s Plumbing and Electric in Manchester. He was a good hardworking person, and he loved to fish and hunt. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
In addition to his parents, Earl is also preceded in death by one brother, James William Eaton. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Mattie Lee Eaton; two daughters, Deborah Amacher (Terry) and Melissa Cartwright (Jim); two sisters, Marie Hatfield and Annette Smith; three grandchildren, John Cummins (Joann), James Cartwright (Jamie), and Anna Marie Cartwright; three great-grandchildren, Robert Cummins, Sarah Beth Cartwright, and Emma Grace Cartwright.
