John Troutman says:
It would be difficult to measure the impact that Clarence, and the entire Byrd family have made on my life. In a time where I had drifted from the faith, in which I had been raised, Clarence and the gang invested their love and lives into a 22 year old kid. You all took me in as one of your own and made me feel like family. I became a member of the Graceways, and for 10 years, I saw God change so many lives.
My call to full time ministry likely would have never happened, had I not walked through the doors of Graceway Baptist Church, on a September Sunday morning in 1979.
Thank you, Clarence. I will see you when my work is done. Linda, Sherri, & all the rest of the gang, I love you all! Thank you for what you mean to me.
All my love,
John & Cheryl Troutman

Evangelist Wade Eadie says:
As a 21 Year old who had just been Saved...I stopped at a Standard Gas Station in Ypsilanti, Michigan & met a Man by the name of Clarence Byrd who said he was the Pastor of a startup church called Graceway Baptist & invited me to come. I had no idea of knowing how much God would use this Man in both my Family & I's life for good & God, nor did I know the great depths of Love and endearment I would grow to hold for him. Immeasurable would be the best definition of the impact & investment that Preacher Byrd had on my Christian life as my Pastor, Teacher, Mentor, & Friend! I was honored to learn about God, the Bible, Christian living, Soulwinning & surrender from this dear Man of God. I was thrilled to surrender to Preach under his Ministry in 1977 & be licensed & Ordained under his Ministry, & Preach for him on several occasions. After 41 Years in the Ministry with the last 22 being in Evangelism...not a day passes that I do not recall something he taught me. I have enjoyed rekindling our relationship over the past few years and the many talks-times of Prayer-visits-we shared. I Pray for Momma Linda, Shree, & the entire Byrd Family for daily & future sustaining Grace from the Heart & Hand of God & I look forward to seeing my Friend & Pastor again in the land that is fairer than Day! Thank You Preacher Byrd for loving a kid like me who was rough around the edges and not easy to love & helping him believe God had a Plan for his life....I am Thankful He had one for You also & it touched so many lives including mine. I Love You Daddy Byrd, see you again. Your Graceway Preacher Boy- Evangelist Wade Eadie / Galatians 6:14
